I had no idea this was going on. I do trust you will bring us any significant news should things turn sour?
Actually, I believe that if the corrupt assclowns running that state really DID shut down all the state run departments, there would be a rapid increase in general societal happiness, a sharp decrease in crime, and a rise in both personal freedom and efficient private business operations.
After all - without having to pay out bribes, taxes and 'contributions' to corrupt officials, bureaucratic bunglers and crooked LEOs, the private sector would have more to spend on the things that are really needed.

Problem is, the assclowns in Albany don't have the dough to keep the lights on and the po-po paid, near term.
It will be interesting to watch.
I think that what "Gov" Paterson and the rest of the Asshats in Albany are MORE afraid of, is that if they shut down due to lack of money, NO ONE WILL NOTICE. The state (especially the outlying urban areas) WILL NOT devolve into "chaos and anarchy", life will go on happily, normally, and they won't be able to justify the Big $$$ that they demand for their salaries, budgets and pork.
Sure there will be the initial bump in the road, but if anyone in New York claims to be a Homo Sapiens, then they will adapt and carry on. Then again, there ARE the denizens of New York City itself. . . . . . Now, THAT will be interesting to observe!

"Chaos & Anarchy in NYC/NYS"? NEVER. Why, the very thought of such an occurrence is an INsult to the brave men, women, & whatever, of NY LE who've sworn to protect the citizens of not only NYC but NY state w/ their very lives just like their colleagues in L.A. & LA did until, until, uh, theydecidednotto&splitbutthatcouldn'tbehelped&wasn'treallytheirfaultitwasafailureofcommand&doesn'tcountsoshutupaboutitalreadyyoucophateryou.
Seeing NYC/NYS collapse on itself & watching its mask of civilization be ripped away w/ the expected following carnage would be as entertaining to me here in the People's Democratic Republic of California as it would be to see the rotten edifice of the P.D.R.C. do likewise. And no, I'm not kidding in the least & yes, I'm well aware of the ramifications of such an eventuality. The only way that a total crash of NYC/NYS would be able to happen is if there was a simultaneous or closely concurrent one out here in the P.D.R.C. W/o that or a national calamity of a type that'd preclude Fed govt mitigation, I just don't see how such an event would be allowed to happen given the political & financial interests NYC/NYS represents.
That doesn't mean, however, that such a thing shouldn't be fervently hoped for! GAD what a bang THAT would be, & on SO many levels, YOW!!
