Baugh: A Plus B Equals Your Worst Nightmare

Baugh's back, and he explains one of the many possibilities awaiting a country whose elites have savaged hundreds of millions of people across the world.

Read it, and know that the scenario he paints is just one to be filed under "Earned Retribution".

Meet the messiah of nothing, Barack O'Baughma. And be afraid. Because he says so. He can't tell us why or he'd have to kill us.

Thanks for linking this vast nothing. I'll breathlessly await my next glass of dessicated water, and I promise I'll never wonder if the only monkeys he's starving are his own readers.

He won't tell you the real details about a plan to kill us all. Only the really-aware, smart, with-it, kool-kids know the details, you know?

He will, however, tell you in his book, in agonizing detail, all about that time an office worker in a college registrar's office really, really, really annoyed him.

I mean it was like monumental, you know?

Have you ever been dissed by an officer worker in a college bureaucracy? Do you have any idea how annoying that is?

Baugh knows.

Boron moderators do not work that way. Fail.

FYI, I forwarded Baugh's article to a physicist I know well and whose judgement I trust. Here are some relevant bits of his answer:

"complete bullshit. There is no way that mixing two substances would change the rate at which one of them emitted alpha particles. I don't mean "no way I know of" I mean "no way because if this works we have to throw out a large part of quantum mechanics that has worked perfectly for the last 80 years." ...

I basically don't know what he could be thinking of and what false trails he is making here. If I were reading it in a novel I'd just be thinking he didn't know any physics. ...

Basically alpha emitters aren't very dangerous unless you get them inside the body (the outside layer of dead skill cells on the skin will stop almost all alphas.) They are very dangerous if they get inside the body because then every alpha does its ionization damage to a bunch of living cells. So if you have a source of a strong alpha emitter (and you can't buy such things on the open market) what you want to do is make it into a bunch of breathable dust that gets lodged in the lungs or maybe eaten. I thought that was what dirty bombs were mostly about.

RE your question 3): A high flux of neutrons (not alphas) can make some of the elements in the body radioactive, but it is an extremely inefficient process. The majority of the damage would be done immediately by the neutrons, not the resulting radiation which would be spread over following months or years. He may know enough to know that happens but be ignorant of how seldom it happens.

P.S. Looking back through this my best guess is that it is designed to sell books by convincing people that this guy knows his shit. "

Judging from the article, Part B is some derivative of Boron...

I concur with the majority of other comments; this article was complete bullshit and a waste of time reading it.

Disappointed you would waste your readership's time with crap like this.

Folks:

I bat over .500 on selections, I hope you'll agree.

Baugh's a smart guy, and his "don't die in the first wave/starve the monkeys" play has much to recommend it.

FWIW, I told him that this piece seemed "a little adrift". I proceeded with it in anticipation of his promised future articles.

Appreciate the feedback.

Dirty bombs are not frightening. The political aftermath is.

The article didn't seem to relevant, though I did enjoy Baugh's rally speech.

Baugh is his own monument. I hope he enjoys his own reflection. Oh, wait, he already does.

In keeping with the baseball analogy, please stop pitching this screwball.

A silo in Pennsylvania. Those darned Amish terrorists again. Planning to frame the poor innocent Muslims the way they did on 9/11 and everywhen else.
Seriously, though, the government could contaminate a few people, inflate the whole thing in the complicit media and have its next "major incident." And blame bitter Tea Party supporters. A streetsweeper truck with anthrax or ricin ... Bloomberg would probably provide one eagerly. Then HE could have his Giuliani-style 9/11 glory.

Concerned American -

I posted the first comment here (anonymously, because I seem to be criticizing things everywhere I go lately, and I'm trying not to be known as a complete ass). I consciously avoided Baugh's physics fallacies, waiting to see what others might have to say.

I'd just observe that blogs are a sum of 1) the folks running the show and 2) the readers. WRSA came through with flying colors on both accounts. So, NO worries.

I'd say you bat well over .900 on selections, and I didn't mean for my "vast nothing" comment to sound so critical of you. (It was meant for Baugh.( So - you have my apology for that, and not anonymously.

This remains one of very few sites I link to and recommend. You do great work here, and you're entitled to no small amount of pride.

Call me silly.
But would not an old fashioned WWI style chemical weapon have done just as well in this story?

The last article of Tom Baugh's was a Fatwa against everyone who lives & works in NY. Now in this post he fantasizes about a dirty bomb killing people in NY. Now I work in NYC & live in Long Island. I'm not crazy about it but it's where my job & family are. So according to Mr.Baugh I'm just another Gomorrah resident waiting to be turned into a pillar of salt...
