And The Beat Goes On

Read these two WaPo articles:

Virginia data show drop in criminal firepower during assault gun ban

The Hidden Life Of Guns

Now imagine the feeeeeeeelings when Congresswoman Giffords returns to the floor of the House to support legislation.

Do you understand yet?

Virgnia Crime went down significantly after larger magazines became available; from 282 per 100,000 in 2000 to 227 in 2009.

That is significant.
http://vaperforms.virginia.gov/indicators/publicSafety/crime.php

Notice the Peoples Republic of Maryland, with uber-restrctive gun laws and 20 round magazine limitations IS MUCH MUCH WORSE than gun friendly Virgina. Data beats propoganda.

(Propoganda spin was police find more legal things, when they are legal- Silly observation, really.)

Nationally, year by year as people buy more of the larger magazines, violent crime keeps going down.

http://www2.fbi.gov/ucr/cius2009/offenses/violent_crime/index.html

So the Virgina trends and National trends show that there is less crime, the longer 'large magazines' are available.

AND - Crime is collectivist states like 'The peoples Republic of Maryland' (which neighbors Virginia) also have less violent crime. So there is no 'liberal state bloodbath' due to out of State crazies as many collectivists pretend.

The data debunks their mythology.

Liberty is Good.

This new gun law will skate thru like teflon. The people want it and we don't have a word to say or the numbers to back it up. Guns are a cancer on Amerika!
I've been bending my friends' ears this last week, and to a man, they refuse to believe there is new and worse legislation coming down the pike. I send them WRSA and Sipsey St. info, which most don't bother to read. I was told SCOTUS has ruled and now that the repubs are in charge, the gun issue is dead, no more new rules!
Where in the hell do these people get these ideas? They are all avid gun owners and one owns a milsurp business to boot. They are also diehard Fox News watchers and are of the opinion that happy days are here again also. They are discussing retirement and new toys again, no more depression days ahead for us.(insert unicorn shitting skittles here)
The worst of it, I had actually considered these buffoons as part of a tribe, someone to train and stock supplies with. Back to a one man platoon I guess.

A perfect example of my favorite statistics quote: "If you torture numbers long enough, they'll confess to anything".

Nowhere in that article on more high capacity magazines was it even suggested that if the higher capacity magazines were more common they will get stolen more often by the goblins and it was simply random correlation.

My response to the WaPo article.

The Washington Post is making an argument of utility to restrict the right of access to any weapon. This cannot be applied to a right because, like all rights, they are NOT subject to either arguments of utility n or to the democratic process.

We self defense rights advocates will not tolerate any additional curbs on our rights by the bought congressmen of the Gun Confiscation Lobby.

We are closely monitoring these criminal congressmen and have them listed: http://onlygunsandmoney.blogspot.com/2011/01/hr-308-co-sponsors.html

Did you notice there was ZERO mention in WaPo of the investigation of BATF in their alleged collusion in moving guns (500 AR semi-auto rifles in one report) across the border?

I did a long search for a comment section after signing on, looked for a "comment" button, but couldn't find it, only comments already written. I guess I'm blind. Anyone else try to post this info at WaPo?

I agree hit Pat H on this one.

Take all arguments and statistics on crime and guns and shove 'em.

Unfettered firearms ownership is a right, mine by birth, already heavily infringed upon.

I won't listen to "reason" and I won't be reasonable.

You don't prevent a mugging by having a debate. I'm sick of debating.

I didn't buy an AR-15 until I thought they were going to be unavailable forever. I think I have a few million think-alike friends.

Excellent points, Pat. Above arguments concerning usefulness, or voting. Like food, air, and locks on our doors.
I have never been as concerned about the death of that concept as now, since I have quoted the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence, Patrick Henry, etc., etc., to Michael Chamberlin who publishes leftist essays on opposingviews.com. He still says that the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the writings of the Founders explaining it all, AREN'T THE LAW, but must be interpreted ACCORDING TO the law.

Defender, of course Mr. Chamberlin would say that, it's the only method by which the progressive/fascist agenda can be enacted in America.

However, he needs to know, clear to his quick, that we will use Rule 762 and Rule 556 to prevent such miscreants from their activities.

Pat and Arctic,

Indeed. Would it change your mind if "gun crime" had gone up? No? Then pay the statistics NO mind. As you said, it is the right of every human being on earth to defend himself with the best means in existence.

Anyone who says otherwise or acts against this right (or any other right) is a tyrant.

Best steer clear of Rule 303, though. That one didn't hold up so well in court.
